Terms of Service

1. Who we are
MyScrive (“we”, “us”) operates an AI writing copilot available as a Chrome extension and a web service at myscrive.com. By using either, you (“you”, “the user”) agree to these terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be 13 or older (16 in the EU) to use MyScrive. If you're using it for a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business to these terms.
3. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Don't share your account or your API token. We may suspend or terminate accounts engaged in abusive, illegal, or harmful activity.
4. Acceptable use
You agree NOT to use MyScrive to:
- Generate, distribute, or facilitate illegal content (CSAM, fraud, etc.).
- Create content designed to mislead, defame, or impersonate.
- Automate spam, phishing, or unwanted commercial communications.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape our service at scale.
- Resell access without our written permission.
- Bypass quotas or use multiple accounts to evade limits.
Additionally, you agree to abide by the usage policies of whatever AI provider you select (Google, Anthropic, OpenAI, Perplexity). Violations there are violations here.
5. Subscriptions and billing
- The Free plan is free, with a daily generation cap. No payment info required.
- The Pro plan is a paid monthly or annual subscription, billed via Stripe in advance. Prices are listed on our pricing page.
- You can cancel anytime via the “Manage subscription” link in your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds: we don't offer pro-rated refunds for partial months. If we've made an error, email us and we'll make it right.
- We may change prices with 30 days' notice via email. Continued use after the change is acceptance.
6. AI outputs — disclaimer
MyScrive forwards your prompts to third-party AI providers and returns their output. AI is not perfect. Outputs may contain errors, inventions, or biases. You are responsible for reviewing every output before using it — particularly for legal, medical, financial, or other high-stakes communications. We do not guarantee the accuracy, fitness for purpose, or non-infringement of generated content.
7. Your content
You retain ownership of everything you input into MyScrive. We claim no rights over your prompts or the AI outputs. We do not train models on your content. Outputs from AI models, however, may not be uniquely yours under applicable copyright law — that's a function of the AI provider's terms, not ours.
8. Service availability
We aim for high uptime but make no guarantees. Maintenance windows, third-party outages (Vercel, Supabase, AI providers), and unforeseen issues can cause interruptions. Free-plan users have no SLA. We do not credit subscriptions for downtime less than 24 hours.
9. Termination
You can delete your account at any time via the dashboard or by emailing us. We can terminate your account for material breach of these terms after a reasonable notice period (immediate, in cases of abuse or illegal activity). Termination doesn't entitle you to a refund of unused subscription time.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MyScrive's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is capped at the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
11. Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, we'll email you and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Lisbon, unless local consumer-protection laws give you different rights.
